What about a Port Growler program for your tasting room?

Liz@MaderaPW

Tasting rooms in the most celebrated wineries offer broad lineups that include sweet dessert or Port style wines. They are increasingly popular, and not just for after dinner or to pair with chocolate. They are being served as an apéritif, paired with savory dishes, used in cocktails, chilled, over ice, and even...hot. (Tawny apple cider, anyone? not now, of course, but someday-when the weather cools back down.) Ports are also great to cook, grill, and bake with.

With summer upon us, rubies and rosés are in demand, and guests will appreciate a chilled sweet pick-me-up. Madera Port works has limited quantities of several options perfect for enjoying during the coming warm months. With a growler program through Madera Port Works you can expand and diversify your lineup quickly by adding one or more specialty Ports, without impacting your production or bottling schedule.

If you don't have an existing growler in your tasting room, don't be afraid to start one now. It's pretty simple to set one up. Port growler barrels require no expensive nitrogen, cooling, or bladder systems. Label approval can usually be obtained within a 4 week period, so that's the first order of business after choosing your blend. In the meantime, you gather a few supplies and build your marketing plan. If that still sounds too difficult, we can help. From choosing your growler glass, sourcing barrels & taps, developing a sales plan, to port training for tasting room staff. The potential benefits are tremendous.

Higher customer conversion/new customers. It becomes an "attraction". A prominent display will draw attention. The act of filling and refilling bottles in view of your guests creates interest, inspiring new guests to purchase, and converting regular tasters and lookers into buyers. It's also a fun shared experience for the host and guest that helps build a valuable connection. (Port bottled to order? Wow do I feel special!)

Additional repeat business. Visitors that purchase growler bottles will return for refills. They instantly become your most frequent customers.

Great social media and direct mail campaigns. New releases, "last calls", recipes, and food pairings will all make great marketing content, and can be leveraged in multiple forms of communication with your customers.

Increased email capture/followers. Every customer the purchases a growler bottle will want to keep in touch with you for all the release updates, recipes, and other ideas how best to enjoy your products.
