Port for blending

As many winemakers know, the addition of a small amount of port adds depth, flavors, tannin, sugar, and color. Less than ideal growing conditions- extreme heat and natural disasters such as the wildfires our state has suffered can impact vulnerable grapes in affected areas. The resulting wines likely need extra care now, and blending is a great way to nurture your investment. So if your fruit missed the mark for sugar and color, your dry reds might be a little better with a Port addition.

Usually go for concentrate?

Port is often chosen over concentrate for a smoother result and because it integrates with the blended wine more evenly.

The natural fruit flavors have no off odors or coarseness.

It is temperature stable, requiring no refrigeration.

The range of flavors in our Port is wide and will add complexity to your red wine.

Skilled winemaking can determine the amount needed to improve a wine. Our consulting team can help you achieve your goal for an award winning wine if you desire.

It is often the less expensive per gallon than concentrate!

Have more than you need to blend? Age it or bottle it as is. Our ruby Ports would be a great addition to your tasting room line up.
